Leon County, FL Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Sec. ' Subsection (c) fixes normal hours at 'one-half hour before sunrise until one-half hour after sunset' and bars any person from being or remaining in a park between a half-hour after sunset and a half-hour before sunrise unless engaged in one of four listed activities: boating from an authorized launching facility, fishing in an authorized area, camping in an authorized designated area within a Class II or III park, or an activity under lighting provided for a specifically organized, supervised recreational program in a Class II or III park.

Subsection (d) lets the parks and grounds supervisor post exceptions to these hours, and subsection (e) exempts law enforcement officers and park employees on duty. A violation of the hours-of-operation rule is punishable under Sec. 13-28 as provided in the general penalty section, Sec. 1-9. Sec. 13-58(b) separately treats a person in the park after hours who behaves in a 'disorderly, offensive, obnoxious, obscene or profane manner' as a public nuisance subject to arrest or ejection, and Sec. 13-58(a) bars alcohol and controlled substances in any county park except with authorization from the County Administrator or designee, an authorization that can extend hours for a permitted evening event.
