Tallahassee Code of Ordinances Chapter 13 (Parks and Recreation), Article II (Facility Rules), governs conduct in city parks. The City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs Department has established that standard park hours run from sunrise to sunset. Lighted facilities (tennis courts, ball fields, and recreation centers) may remain open beyond sunset per posted hours. Unauthorized presence in a closed park may result in a trespass warning issued by law enforcement or a parks officer. Section 13-37 provides a process to appeal a trespass warning within 15 days of receipt. Violations of Chapter 13 rules are subject to the general penalty provisions of the Code of Ordinances.
