Douglas County parks and open spaces are closed to entry, use, or occupancy between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise. Designated active regional or local parks may stay open until 11:00 p.m., and later use requires written authorization from the parks or open space division director.
The Douglas County Parks Rules and Regulations make it unlawful to enter, use, or occupy park and open space between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise, except within a designated active regional or local park where recreational activities may be allowed until 11:00 p.m., or where a division director gives written authorization. Vehicles also may not be left unattended in a park between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise except during lighted sporting events or with written permission. Overnight camping and trailer parking are prohibited except in designated areas. Incorporated towns (such as Castle Rock) set their own park hours and curfews.
Being in a closed park after hours is a violation of county park regulations and can result in a citation or removal from the property.
