Sec. 23-202 defines a 'recreation area' as 'any area designated and posted by the City as a City park, whether developed or undeveloped, a golf course or a designated trail, whether within or without the City limits,' and puts the Parks Department in charge of it. Natural areas are a distinct land classification administered by a different City department, so anyone checking hours for a specific property should confirm whether it is designated a City park or recreation area under Article X, or a natural area under Article IX, before assuming which curfew and enforcing agency governs that site.
