Georgetown County, SC Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

County Code § 13.9-22 sets a countywide closing time of 11:00 p.m. for all county parks and recreation parks and facilities, with a single exception: when an organized activity is underway, the park or facility stays open until that program is finished. Boat landings are carved out separately and remain accessible at all hours, but strictly for launching watercraft, not for general park use after hours. Section 13.9-24(5) restates the same after-hours restriction as a park regulation: no person may be on any Georgetown County Parks and Recreation property after 11:00 p.m. except during an organized activity that extends past that hour, and boat landings again stay open 24 hours a day for launching only.

The parks and recreation department's authorized personnel enforce these hours and the department's broader rules under § 13.9-23, including the right to enter any park building, structure or leased enclosure at any time. Because Chapter 13.9 does not carry its own penalty clause, an after-hours violation falls under the county's general penalty provision, County Code § 1-6, which sets a default fine of up to $200.00 or imprisonment of up to 30 days for any county ordinance violation that lacks a specific penalty of its own, with each continuing violation counted as a separate offense.
