Kirkland parks are closed from 10 PM to 6 AM under KMC Chapter 19.04. Violators may be cited for trespass. Waterfront parks including Marina Park follow the same closure schedule.
Kirkland park hours are established under Kirkland Municipal Code Chapter 19.04 and Parks Department administrative rules. Most city parks including neighborhood parks, community parks, and waterfront parks such as Marina Park, Juanita Bay Park, Juanita Beach Park, David E. Brink Park, and Houghton Beach Park are closed to the public between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Parks may display posted signs indicating specific operating hours. Persons found in a closed park without authorization may be cited for criminal trespass under Washington RCW 9A.52 or for violation of park rules. Special event permits issued by the Kirkland Parks and Community Services Department can authorize extended hours for specific permitted activities. Launched boats, kayaks, and paddleboards must be out of the water and vehicles out of park parking areas by closing time. Park curfew applies equally to all persons regardless of age. Enforcement is handled by Kirkland Police.
Criminal trespass (RCW 9A.52) is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days jail and $1,000 fine. Park rule violations may result in citations and temporary exclusion from city parks.
