Brazoria County, TX Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 9 of the Brazoria County Conduct Rules For All Parks, titled 'Park Operating Policy,' sets the rule for when the county's parks are open. Subsection (1), Hours, states that except for unusual and unforeseen emergencies, parks are open to the public every day of the year during designated hours, and that the opening and closing hours for each individual park are posted at that park for public information. There is no single countywide closing time; each park carries its own posted hours, so the effective closing time is whatever schedule is posted at the gate of that specific park.

Subsection (2), Closed Areas, backs this up by letting the Parks Director declare any section or part of a park closed to the public at any time, temporarily or on a regular schedule, and either entirely or just for certain uses, whenever the Director finds it reasonably necessary. Section 7(8) then makes it an offense to enter an area posted 'Closed to the Public' or to use or help others use an area in violation of a posted closure notice. Related provisions reinforce the after-hours rule: Section 6(2)(d) bars launching, docking or operating any boat between a park's nighttime closing hour and its opening hour the next morning, and Section 6(6) bars leaving movable structures like house-trailers or camp-wagons in a park after closing hours.

Violating the Closed Areas or after-hours provisions is a misdemeanor under Section 10(1), fined up to $200 per day of continuing violation, and Section 10(4) lets the Director or a park attendant eject anyone found in a park, or a closed part of one, outside posted hours.
