Brazoria County, TX Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Section 6 of the Parks Conduct Rules, adopted by Commissioners Court Order No. ' Item (7), titled 'Games,' first bars taking part in games involving thrown or propelled objects, such as balls, stones, arrows, javelins, or model airplanes, outside areas set apart for that recreation, and confines rough games such as football, baseball, and quoits to fields and courts provided for them. ' That means a rider cannot skate or skateboard on a park's roads, parking lots, picnic areas, or any other general-use space; the Director must have marked out a specific area for the activity first.

The rule reads as a location restriction rather than an outright ban, so skateboarding itself is not illegal in a Brazoria County park, but doing it outside the marked area violates Section 6(7) the same way an unauthorized game of catch on a picnic lawn would. Attendants who regulate picnic and recreation areas under Section 6(5) carry the same authority to direct skaters and skateboarders to the designated space.
