Spokane parks close at 11 PM and reopen at 5 AM under Park Board rules adopted pursuant to SMC 12.06. Being in a park after hours without a permit is a civil infraction.
All Spokane parks, trails, and natural areas are closed to the public from 11 PM until 5 AM, with limited exceptions for designated routes such as portions of the Centennial Trail used for commuting. The Park Board enacted the uniform curfew to reduce vandalism, illegal camping, and after-hours drug activity. Some facilities close earlier: Manito Park gardens at dusk, Riverfront Park lighted pathways at midnight during special events, and community center parking lots per their facility schedule. Special events, permitted runs, or organized activities may obtain after-hours use permits. Alcohol is prohibited in all parks without a permit under SMC 12.06.0206. Camping and overnight vehicle storage are prohibited. Enforcement is carried out by Park Rangers and Spokane Police Department patrol officers. Homeless individuals in parks after hours are referred to shelter services in addition to citation.
Civil infraction $25-$100. Alcohol or camping violations: up to $250.
