Garland, TX Drone Rules: Commercial Drones (2026)

52(A)(38) of the Garland Development Code creates two tiers of Commercial Drone Delivery Hub. A large hub may be allowed, only where granted a Specific Use Provision, in an Industrial district; a small hub may be approved as a primary use, again only by Specific Use Provision, in the Industrial, Heavy Commercial, Light Commercial, and Community Retail districts. Every hub must show its drone staging area on a site plan, and that area cannot sit inside a required building setback, a required landscape edge, a fire lane, easement, maneuvering aisle, customer pick-up lane, or required loading or parking space, and it cannot obstruct visibility or interfere with circulation.
