Violations & Fines
Violating any part of Chapter 7.42, including the event-proximity rules in § 7.42.030(D) and (I), is a misdemeanor under § 7.42.070, punishable under Sonoma Municipal Code § 1.12.010(B) by a fine of up to $1,000, up to six months in jail, or both. Prosecutors may instead reduce the charge to an infraction, carrying fines of $100, $200 and $500 for a first, second and third violation of the same section within a year. Each day of a continuing violation is a separate offense.
