Oklahoma City, OK Environmental Rules: Boat Dock Permits (2026)

Oklahoma City doesn't allow private boat docks on its water-supply reservoirs. Lake Hefner, Lake Overholser, and Lake Stanley Draper are all City-owned, and docking means renting a wet stall at a City marina through the Parks and Recreation Director or Utilities Director. Section 38-247 requires the applicant to hold title or registration to a navigable boat carrying a current Oklahoma City boat permit, provide photo ID, complete the rental permit form, pay the fee, and sign indemnification acknowledgments. Only one wet stall may be rented per boat, stalls can't be sublet or assigned, and rentals normally run on an annual basis set by Water Utilities Trust resolution. Section 38-246 lets the Director bump permittees from their stall for construction, repair, or emergency needs at the reservoir without a refund.
