In unincorporated Collier County, residential fences may reach 6 feet in side and rear yards. Front-yard fences are capped at 4 feet on interior or waterfront lots of 1 acre or less, but 6 feet on lots larger than 1 acre.
LDC Section 5.03.02 C sets maximum residential fence and wall heights by yard and lot size. Front yard: lots over 1 acre get 6 feet; non-waterfront interior and waterfront lots of 1 acre or less get 4 feet; corner lots of 1 acre or less get 4 feet within 10 feet of the longest frontage, otherwise 6 feet. Side and rear yards: generally 6 feet, though waterfront lots of 1 acre or less are limited to 4 feet in the rear. Public utility ancillary systems may reach 8 feet. Fences within agricultural districts are exempt from height and construction-type limits.
Enforced by Collier County Code Enforcement. Over-height or unpermitted fences may be cited for correction or removal; code board fines can reach $250/day (repeat $500/day) under FS 162.09.
