Residential fences and solid walls cap at six feet; agricultural, commercial, industrial and tourist-commercial parcels allow eight feet, rising to ten feet (12 with a binding development plan) where commercial or industrial land abuts a residential zone. Height is measured from finished grade, not from a berm. Within the required front setback, or the side-street setback on a corner lot next to a narrow key lot, fences drop to four feet. Near any street intersection, obstructions inside the sight triangle are capped at three and one-half feet. A county building permit is required before construction.
