Nampa, ID Fence Regulations: Height Limits (2026)

In Nampa's residential zones, perimeter fences may run up to 6 feet high everywhere outside the front yard. In the front yard, only a 3-foot closed-vision fence or a 4-foot open-vision fence is allowed, built from the setback line to the sidewalk. On corner lots, 6-foot fences are permitted along the side street only outside the clear vision triangle, and a 7.5-foot vision triangle applies where the rear property line meets an alley or drive approach. Fence height is measured at grade within six inches of the fence's base. Commercial, industrial and multi-family properties get a separate, taller allowance under the same section. A building permit is required before any fence or wall goes up.
