Houston County, GA Fence Regulations: Height Limits (2026)

2 of the Comprehensive Land Development Regulations, titled Vision Clearance, governs corner fence height in unincorporated Houston County. It applies in every zoning district except C-3, Concentrated Commercial, and prohibits any fence, wall, shrubbery, sign, marquee, or other obstruction to vision between the heights of two and one-half feet and ten feet from ground level within twenty-five feet of the intersection of the right-of-way lines of two streets, or of a street intersection with a railroad line. The rule targets the sight triangle drivers need at intersections rather than setting a blanket cap on fence height across an entire yard; the code does not state a separate front, side, or rear yard fence-height limit elsewhere in Article VI.
