Consumer 1.4G fireworks are legal in unincorporated Williamson County and sell June 24 through July 4 and December 20 through January 1; the Commissioners Court can restrict skyrockets and missiles during drought.
Texas Occupations Code 2154.202(g) opens retail fireworks sales June 24 through midnight July 4 and December 20 through midnight January 1. Consumer 1.4G fireworks are legal to discharge on private property in the unincorporated county. State law bars igniting them within 600 feet of a church, hospital, school, or licensed child-care center and within 100 feet of stored flammable liquids. Under Local Government Code 352.051 the Commissioners Court may restrict skyrockets with sticks and missiles with fins when the Keetch-Byram Drought Index reaches 575 or higher.
Discharging fireworks within 600 feet of a school, church, or hospital, or violating a county drought restriction order, is a Class C misdemeanor.
