Consumer fireworks (1.4G) legal statewide per O.C.G.A. Β§25-10-2. General hours 10 AM-midnight; extended to 11:59 PM (and 1 AM on Jan 1) on July 3-4, Dec 31, Jan 1, Memorial Day weekend, and Labor Day. Local governments cannot ban but can restrict via noise ordinances.
Georgia Fireworks Safety Act (O.C.G.A. Β§25-10-1+) preempts local bans on consumer fireworks since 2015 (SB 350/HB 110). Per O.C.G.A. Β§25-10-2(a)(2), discharge prohibited within 100 yards of hospitals, nursing homes, jails, or electric plants, and prohibited on public roads/rights-of-way and government parks without permit. Fulton County and its cities can apply general noise ordinances on non-holiday days. Atlanta enforces its noise ordinance (Atlanta Code Β§74-133) outside the protected discharge windows.
