Fulton County Code §34-205 requires dogs off the owner's premises to be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, under control of a competent handler. Running at large is prohibited.
Section 34-205 prohibits dogs running at large in unincorporated Fulton County and in cities with Fulton animal-control agreements. Off-premises, dogs must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. On-premises, dogs must be confined by fence, wall, or leash. Tethering as the primary restraint is prohibited under §34-205(d) — dogs may only be tethered while actively attended. Exceptions exist for obedience training, hunting (with valid license in AG zones), and law enforcement.
Civil citation up to $1,000 per violation; impoundment fees apply for stray pickups. Repeat violations can lead to dog being declared a public nuisance.
