Full Breakdown
Fulton County Code § 34-283(b)(4) requires written proof of sterilization by a licensed veterinarian before Animal Control issues the annual certificate of registration a classified dangerous or vicious animal's owner must hold. The same certificate also requires microchipping, liability insurance or a bond, and a secure classified-animal pen. This sterilization duty is narrow: it applies only to animals the county has formally classified as dangerous or vicious under § 34-282, not to household pets generally.
Violations & Fines
An owner who cannot produce sterilization proof along with the other registration documents cannot obtain the certificate of registration, and the classified animal may not be released to them, per § 34-283.
