Chattanooga, TN Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Chattanooga City Code § 20-148 bars selling food, beverages, fruit, or similar consumables from a mobile food unit unless the operator has a Mobile Food Unit Permit from the city treasurer, sales are made under a permitted operator's control, and the operator has written landlord permission or otherwise complies with public-property rules. Application requires the operator's contact info, a description of what's sold, and the unit's VIN plus two photographs. The $50 permit is valid one year, must be displayed inside the unit and visible from outside, and each unit needs its own permit and fee under § 20-147.
