Full Breakdown
Chapter 47 defines a food service truck as a self-propelled motorized vehicle selling food to the public and requires the operator, like any vendor, to get a license from the Director of Permitting Services under Sec. 47-3, display it under Sec. 47-5, and keep it current under Sec. 47-4. Sec. 47-2(e) further limits food service trucks to operating between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. That license is separate from the Chapter 15 food service license the Department of Health and Human Services requires under Sec. 15-8(a) for the mobile unit's food-handling operations.
Violations & Fines
Operating without the Chapter 47 vendor license, or violating any provision of the chapter, is a class A violation under Sec. 47-8; the Director may also revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew the license under Sec. 47-6.
