Passaic County, NJ Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Article III of the Park Property Ordinance spells out the financial and administrative terms for a food truck permit. The ordinance states: "Permits will be issued on an annual basis, with a fee of $500," and separately, "One food permit is required for each truck", so an operator running multiple trucks in the park system needs a separate $500 permit for every vehicle, not one blanket permit for a fleet. " A truck operator also needs proof of insurance and proof of applicable health-code permits or approvals before the county will issue the permit, and the operator is liable for any loss, damage or injury within the park system caused by negligent acts of the permit holder or associated staff.

Violating any term of the park ordinances, or any local, state or federal law, is grounds for revocation of the permit under Article III's own revocation clause. Because the permit is annual and per-truck, an operator adding a second or third truck mid-season must obtain and pay for an additional $500 permit for each additional vehicle before that truck can legally serve customers on county park property.
