Sioux City, IA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Sioux City regulates mobile food vending through Chapter 19 of the Sioux City Municipal Code. Operators must obtain a Mobile Food Vendor Permit from the Sioux City Clerk's Office: the fee is $50 for a calendar year or $20 for a single-event permit, and the permit covers operation within Sioux City corporate limits. State-level food safety is handled by the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) under Iowa Code Chapter 137F (Food Establishments) and 481 IAC Chapter 31, with inspection delegated to the Siouxland District Health Department (SDHD), which holds the contract for Woodbury, Plymouth, Sioux, Lyon, Osceola, O'Brien, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, and Palo Alto counties.
