Licensed Paterson peddlers can't sell near fire hydrants, crosswalks, driveways, bus stops, store entrances, or anywhere in the downtown core.

Engage in the business of peddling within 10 feet of any location where the curb has been depressed... City Code § 367-39.1 sets out where a licensed peddler or hawker may not operate: within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, crosswalk or driveway; within 10 feet of a curb cut; on any sidewalk or street designated a bus stop; within 20 feet of an entranceway to a store, theater, school, museum or similar place of assembly; or anywhere within the defined downtown area (Main and Market Streets east to Memorial Drive, then northwest along Memorial Drive back to Main Street). Peddling is also barred between 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and a clear six-foot pedestrian right-of-way must be maintained at all times.
