No person shall hold, conduct, engage in or participate in any manner or allow a residential sale to be held or conducted on the same premises under his/her control or ownership more than two times in any calendar year, subject, however, to the exception allowed in Section 22-23. A subsequent sale within any calendar year will be permitted only if satisfactory proof a bonafide change in ownership of the real property is first presented to the Supervisor of Licenses.

Full Breakdown

City Code § 22-2 limits any address to two residential sales per calendar year, with a third allowed only if the applicant proves a bona fide change in property ownership. Each sale requires a separate permit from the Supervisor of Licenses under § 22-21, capped at three consecutive days per § 22-23(a), with permitted hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Only three families' goods can be sold under one permit, and signage is limited to one 12-square-foot on-site sign plus two off-site signs with the property owner's permission.

Violations & Fines

Holding a residential sale without a permit, exceeding two sales a year, or violating any provision is a Code violation; each article sold and each sale day counts as a separate offense.
