Summary

Beyond the City Clerk permit, Springfield's Massachusetts code caps every garage or yard sale at three consecutive days and no more than four occasions a year at one Hampden County address.

Full Breakdown

Chapter 351 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Springfield ties a valid permit to strict frequency and duration caps. Each permitted sale may run no more than three consecutive days. No permit may be issued for more than four separate garage/tag/rummage-sale occasions per calendar year at any one location, and a permit will not be granted to anyone who has already held such a sale on two occasions elsewhere in the City that calendar year.
