Sec. 3(j)(7) sets the client-traffic cap that applies to every permitted home occupation in the county. No more than eight customers, clients, students or other persons served by the home occupation may be on the premises on any one day. , and each visit is capped at no more than one hour, so a business cannot bring in a steady stream of longer appointments even if it stays under the daily headcount. The provision also confines client-facing home occupations to single-family dwellings only: a home occupation involving visits by customers, clients, students or other persons is not permitted in a duplex, multi-family unit or other non-single-family housing type, even where a home occupation without visitors would otherwise be allowed there.

The ordinance does build in flexibility for businesses that need more capacity: exceptions to the daily count, hours or one-hour visit limit may be approved through the minor use permit process, which requires an application to the Community Development Department and a discretionary review rather than automatic approval. This client cap operates alongside the other home occupation conditions in Sec. 3(j), including the ban on outdoor storage, the ten-per-week delivery cap and the noise-at-property-line standard, so a business drawing in-person clients must satisfy all of them together.
