Home-based child care in Bexar County is regulated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Child Care Regulation division under Human Resources Code Chapter 42 and the Minimum Standards for Child-Care Homes. Three tiers exist. Listed Family Homes care for 1 to 3 unrelated children and must register with HHSC but follow reduced standards.
