West Valley City Land Use Ordinance (Title 7) permits home occupations as an accessory use in residential zoning districts. Requirements: the business must be conducted entirely within the dwelling or an accessory building, must not occupy more than 25 percent of the floor area, must not generate customer traffic exceeding normal residential levels, no outdoor storage, no employees beyond residents, and no exterior evidence of the business except one unlit nameplate sign not exceeding two square feet. Prohibited home occupations include auto repair, welding shops, medical/dental offices with walk-in patients, and retail sales from the home.
