West Valley City Municipal Code Title 7 allows home occupations as a permitted accessory use in residential zones subject to conditions: the business must be clearly incidental to the residential use, conducted entirely within the dwelling or approved accessory structure, not occupy more than 25 percent of the dwelling floor area, generate no external evidence (no outside storage or displays), employ no more than one non-resident employee, and generate no more traffic or parking demand than a typical residence. Manufacturing, auto repair, and firearms sales are prohibited. A city business license is required.
