' The Section 4-8-4 Permitted Signs by Type and Zone table lists 'HOME OCCUPTN' as its own sign type and marks it 'A,' meaning allowed without a sign permit, in the county's R1, R2, R3, R4W and RE residential zone columns; the same table marks several nonresidential zones, such as NB and OR, 'N' for that sign type. ' Because a home or rural home occupation sign is exempt from the permit process, it also falls outside the maximum sign area table in Section 4-8-5 and the freestanding-sign dimension table in Section 4-8-6, both of which apply to permitted signs.

The Administrative Officer still enforces the content restriction: a home occupation sign that adds a business logo, a product list, or advertising copy beyond name, address and occupation no longer fits the definition and becomes a development standard violation subject to the citation process in Section 6-3-6.
