Tarpon Springs limits home occupation signage to one small, non-illuminated wall sign on the principal residence. Address-of-convenience businesses may not display any on-premises advertising signs at the property.
Article IV Special Regulations and Article XI Sign Regulations of the Tarpon Springs Comprehensive Zoning and Land Development Code govern home-based business signage. For permitted home occupations, a maximum of one non-illuminated on-site wall sign not exceeding one square foot is allowed on the principal residential building, no more than two feet from an entrance. There must be no other exterior evidence of the home occupation. Address-of-convenience operations (mail/phone-only offices) cannot display any on-premise advertising signs. A larger sign or any departure from these limits requires Board of Commissioners approval.
Unpermitted, illuminated, or oversized signs trigger removal orders, daily code enforcement fines, and potential revocation of the business tax receipt.
