Full Breakdown
Clark County Code Section 12.49.040, adopted by Ordinance No. 5187 in November 2024, bars laying down, sleeping, or storing personal property in public rights-of-way, within five feet of building entrances, within ten feet of driveways, or within a posted distance of designated sensitive-use sites like parks and trailheads. Because the Las Vegas Strip resorts sit in unincorporated Paradise and Winchester townships, this county rule -- not the City of Las Vegas code -- governs sidewalks along Las Vegas Boulevard South. Before citing anyone, an officer must first warn the person, direct them to shelter services, and give them a chance to move.
Violations & Fines
Citation or arrest for repeated violations after warning and shelter referral; impoundment of stored property left over 24 hours.
