Aurora, IL Landscaping Rules: Water Restrictions (2026)

All properties with street addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 may use city distributed water for plant watering or pool filling on even-numbered calendar dates between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. prevailing time. All properties with street addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 may use city distributed water for plant watering or pool filling on odd-numbered calendar dates between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. prevailing time. All properties which cannot be readily identified as having even- or odd-numbered street addresses are hereby designated as even-numbered for water conservation purposes. No property will be allowed to use water for lawn watering on July 31 and August 31 of the calendar year. Special regulations. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (c), the following special regulations shall apply: Trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens may be watered at any time so long as such watering is done with a properly attended hand-held hose not larger than one-inch diameter with a positive shut-off nozzle or with an automatic root feed or drip-type irrigation device. Swimming pools with a volume of fifty (50) gallons or less may be filled at any time. Vehicles may be washed at any time, so long as such washing is done with a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shut-off nozzle.
