Outside the midday ban, existing landscaping follows an odd/even address schedule: even addresses, mixed-zone systems serving both even and odd addresses (such as HOAs), and addresses with no number may irrigate only on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Sunday; odd addresses may irrigate only on Monday, Wednesday and/or Saturday. New landscaping, installed 90 days or less, gets extra latitude: it may be irrigated once on the installation day regardless of schedule, and for its first 30 days may run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and/or Sunday, then drops to the Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule through day 90.

Systems may be tested for repair or maintenance on any day, capped at once a week and 10 minutes per zone with someone on-site. Low-volume irrigation, micro-irrigation, low-volume hand watering, and rain barrels or cisterns are all exempt from the day-of-week schedule entirely, and a variance is available under Sec. 54-370 for documented hardship, with no single zone allowed more than three watering days a week even with a variance.
