Water restrictions in Paradise, NV — also called the watering schedule, outdoor irrigation rules, or drought ordinance — set which days and hours you can run sprinklers or irrigation.
Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) mandatory watering schedule assigns every Paradise address to a group (A-F) and limits irrigation by season. Sunday watering is prohibited year-round. Summer 11 a.m.-7 p.m. watering prohibited.
Every property in the Las Vegas Valley is assigned to one of six watering groups (A-F) based on address. The group determines which specific days of the week sprinkler systems may run. Assigned watering groups are MANDATORY for all municipal water customers and apply to Paradise. Seasonal limits: WINTER (Nov 1 - Feb 28) one assigned day per week only. SPRING (Mar 1 - Apr 30) three assigned days per week. SUMMER (May 1 - Aug 31) any day except Sunday, but NO irrigation between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. FALL (Sep 1 - Oct 31) three assigned days per week. Running sprinklers outside assigned days is water waste subject to a fee or citation. Sunday watering is prohibited year-round throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Hand watering with a hose fitted with a positive shutoff nozzle is exempt. Drip irrigation can run any day at any time but cannot leak or run off. Failure to repair a malfunctioning irrigation system within 48 hours is a water-waste violation.
LVVWD water waste fees start at $80 for a first offense, $160 for a second, $320 for a third, escalating to $1,280 for a fifth offense in a 12-month period. Commercial customers face higher fees. Repeat violations can lead to service shutoff. The water cop tip line (702-258-SAVE) drives most citations.
