50(1) defines a bicycle as a human-powered, two-tandem-wheel vehicle with wheels at least twenty inches in diameter, solid or pneumatic tires, a steering bar or wheel, and a saddle seat. Subsection (2)(a) establishes the county's only designated bicycle lane by ordinance: a six-foot-wide strip measured from the shoulder along the east side of County Highway T, running from the City of Kenosha's limits to its intersection with State Highway 32. Subsection (3) puts the County Highway Department in charge of marking that lane with the appropriate signs and roadway striping.

Once those signs and markings are in place, subsection (4) makes it unlawful for anyone to operate any vehicle other than a bicycle along or within the lane, or to park a non-bicycle vehicle in it, except during an emergency. Because the ordinance names only one lane, the protection does not automatically extend to bike lanes striped by the City of Kenosha or the villages on their own streets; those are governed by municipal, not county, code. 04(1), not less than $50 nor more than $1,000 plus court costs, with default of payment punishable by county jail time up to 90 days.
