Bucks County, PA Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

Section 7 of the Bucks County Park System Rules and Regulations, effective October 1, 2025, governs bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters on county park property. Riding is confined to areas, trails and paved roads specifically designated for that use; entering natural areas on a bike, e-bike or e-scooter is separately barred. Riders must yield to pedestrians on roadways, paths, trails and at every crosswalk, and a rider passing a pedestrian on a trail must give an audible signal first. On trails designated for non-motorized use, e-bike operators may use only human power or pedal-assist power; running the electric motor alone for an extended stretch without pedaling is prohibited, and motor-assisted speed on those trails is capped at 15 mph.

An e-bike is defined as weighing no more than 100 pounds with wheels over 11 inches and a motor limited to 20 mph on a level surface. The Department may further restrict e-bike or e-scooter use on specific trails for safety or resource-management reasons. § 3514), no one under 16 may operate an e-bike on state or local highways.
