Full Breakdown
County Code § 12-3-109 adopts Maryland's speed-camera law (Transportation Article § 21-809) for use in Anne Arundel County, covering the unincorporated county, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, Pasadena and the rest, since none of these places has a government of its own. The code adds one local safeguard: when the County moves or newly places a mobile or stationary speed camera at a location, it cannot issue citations from that spot until at least 15 calendar days after warning signage goes up. The code contains no comparable authorization for red-light/traffic-signal cameras.
Violations & Fines
No citation may issue for 15 calendar days after new signage is installed at a moved or newly placed speed camera site (§ 12-3-109(c)); once that window passes, tickets proceed under Maryland's civil speed-camera citation process.
