010(C), amended by Ord. No. 019738 effective 5-28-2025, authorizes the traffic engineer to designate curbside 'zones for rideshare use,' where 'loading and unloading of passengers will be permissible twenty-four hours per day, unless otherwise specified on posted signs': unlike general loading zones, which are restricted to specific hours unless signed otherwise. 030 lets 'the driver of a rideshare or taxi vehicle' stop at a loading zone for up to five minutes, 'even during the restricted hours,' so long as the stop doesn't block another vehicle lawfully entering to load or unload merchandise.

060 makes it unlawful for any vehicle other than a bus, taxicab, or rideshare vehicle to stop, stand, or park in a zone designated and signed for that purpose, aside from a brief stop to load or unload passengers that doesn't interfere with a bus or taxi entering the zone. 040(A), and passenger common-carrier companies that request a designated stop must pay the city's design and installation costs. 030(B)(6)).
