" This applies equally to a car alarm and a building alarm, so a vehicle alarm that keeps blaring past the fifteen-minute mark is charged the same way as a house or store alarm that does. The provision does not require a resident to prove the alarm caused a subjective "noise disturbance"; the fifteen-minute cutoff is the standard itself. Enforcement flows through the same chapter-wide mechanism: § 373-2 assigns responsibility to the Police Department, the Township Health Officer and the Department of Licenses and Inspections, and § 373-3 lets enforcement personnel issue a written correction notice (for non-vehicle sources) before a summons and complaint is filed, with noncompliance treated as its own separate violation.

Section 373-11A's emergency exception does not cover ordinary alarm activations; it is limited to noise from actual emergency response work. A chronically malfunctioning alarm system can also be pursued as a public nuisance for injunctive abatement under § 373-13 if citations do not stop the recurring noise.
