Full Breakdown
Lakewood Municipal Code § 9.52.130 prohibits loading or unloading any garbage, trash or compactor truck within 300 feet of a building containing a Residential Use on any Sunday, any Designated Holiday (New Year's, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas), or between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The rule is written to waste-hauling trucks specifically, not general package delivery vehicles, and sits in Chapter 9.52's noise code alongside the parallel construction-hours curfew. Limited exceptions and a City Manager temporary-exemption process apply under §§ 9.52.153 and 9.52.155.
Violations & Fines
Loading trash trucks near homes during barred hours violates § 9.52.130 and is enforced under Chapter 9.52's general penalty: up to $2,650, up to 365 days jail, or both.
