Construction hours in Fayetteville, AR — sometimes called construction noise rules or contractor work-hour ordinances — set when contractors can run power tools, hammers, and heavy equipment.
Fayetteville only restricts private construction noise between 11 PM and 7 AM (until 9 AM Sundays) near homes, under Sec. 96.02(D). Daytime and evening construction is otherwise unrestricted, more permissive than most cities.
Unlike cities that confine construction to 7 AM to 7 PM, Fayetteville's Sec. 96.02(D) only prohibits private development construction noise plainly audible within 150 yards of a residence after 11 PM and before 7 AM (extended to 9 AM on Sundays). Emergency work to prevent a dangerous condition is exempt when authorized by the Mayor. During permitted hours, construction sound is measured against industrial-zone limits (Sec. 96.04(E)). Contractors needing after-hours work request a variance permit from the Mayor under Sec. 96.07.
Fine up to $500 per offense under Sec. 96.99, doubled for repeats, plus up to $250 for each day a violation continues. After-hours work without a variance is enforceable.
