In unincorporated Placer County, construction noise is addressed through the exemptions in Placer County Code Section 9.36.030(A)(7). Construction, alteration or repair activities are exempt from the general noise standards only when they take place between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and only if all construction equipment is fitted with factory-installed muffling devices and maintained in good working order. Work outside those windows is not exempt and must meet the Table 1 sound limits in 9.36.060.
