Mount Pleasant, SC Noise Ordinances: Construction Hours (2026)

Two exceptions in division (G) can apply to job sites: emergency work needed to restore property to a safe condition or protect people or property from danger, and construction or repair of public roadways, public works projects, and other projects permitted by the town. Neither exception covers ordinary private building work outside the exempted categories. The Mount Pleasant Police Department or other designated town authority enforces the section and may take sound level meter readings under division (B) to document a daytime complaint, though a plainly-audible complaint does not require one.
