Section 8.0 of the Excessive Noise Ordinance limits construction hours within 500 feet of residential property. April 15-October 15: work must not begin before 6:00 a.m. and must stop by 7:00 p.m. October 16-April 14: not before 7:00 a.m., stop by 7:00 p.m. Non-residential areas beyond 500 feet may start at 5:00 a.m. Concrete may be poured 5am-7pm (summer) or 6am-7pm (winter). On any Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, work runs 7am-7pm and concrete 6am-7pm. A permit from Planning and Development Services can authorize other times.
Working outside allowed hours without a permit is a class 1 misdemeanor (disorderly conduct) plus civil fines up to $750/day; each day is a separate offense.
