Sahuarita, AZ Noise Ordinances: Leaf Blower Rules (2026)

The Sahuarita Town Code does not specifically regulate leaf blowers or similar motorized landscape equipment beyond its general noise-nuisance framework. Residents and landscaping crews may operate gas-powered or electric blowers during reasonable daytime hours, generally between 7 AM and 7 PM. Use outside those hours could trigger a nuisance complaint if the noise disturbs neighboring residents, evaluated under the qualitative reasonable-person standard that Sahuarita applies to noise disputes. Arizona does not have a statewide leaf blower restriction, so the Town Code and HOA rules are the only applicable layers. Within Rancho Sahuarita and other master-planned communities along the I-19 corridor, HOA CC&Rs may set narrower operating windows or ban gas-powered blowers entirely in favor of electric models. Landscape maintenance companies performing work for the Town or Pima County on rights-of-way are generally exempt during contracted operating hours. Dust control is a practical concern in the Sonoran Desert environment, and blowers used near unpaved surfaces should minimize fugitive dust to avoid Pima County Department of Environmental Quality air-quality complaints.
