Outdoor amplified entertainment needs a police special permit; permitted public functions may run only 9 a.m.-midnight and may exceed normal limits by up to 15 dB(A). Without a permit, loudspeaker nighttime limits apply.
Under Fayetteville City Code Sec. 17-14, special-permit entertainment must be open to the public, held on public property or CIP-zoned shopping-center areas, staged between 9 a.m. and midnight, and recur no more than four times a year. Exterior loudspeakers may not exceed Table 1 limits except by permit. Places of public entertainment whose sound exceeds the exposure levels in Table 3 must post a conspicuous hearing-warning sign (Sec. 17-11(13)). Without a permit, the 10 p.m. loudspeaker cutoff applies near homes.
Operating outdoor amplified entertainment without or beyond a permit is a citable civil violation subject to the city fee schedule.
