Industrial and agricultural properties may not exceed 75 dB(A) at the property line at any time (65/60 dB(A) commercial). Nighttime loading and unloading near homes is restricted 7 p.m.-6 a.m. on weekdays.
Fayetteville City Code Sec. 17-10, Table 1 sets 75 dB(A) at all times for manufacturing, industrial and agricultural use, and 65 dB(A) daytime / 60 dB(A) night for commercial/business use, measured at the boundary. Loading, unloading and handling of materials, containers or garbage cans within 50 yards of a residential or noise-sensitive zone is prohibited 7 p.m.-6 a.m. weekdays and 7 p.m.-8 a.m. weekends/holidays (Sec. 17-11(5)). Cumberland County Code Sec. 9.5-24 applies parallel limits for unincorporated industrial sites.
Exceeding the industrial limit or nighttime loading restriction brings a citation and a per-day civil penalty (Sec. 17-18).
